About
Greta Moschata (b. 2001) in Washington D.C. but raised on a military base in Hawaii is a fashion designer currently based in New York City. A graduate of Parson BFA Fashion Design program 2024, Moschata began their studies at Parsons pursing war photography. Thier background in photo and film now deeply informs their design process, often beginning a work with series of photographs in the nude, as a way of exploring posture, movement, and the many nuanced shapes the body and therefore garments can take.
While studying in New York City, Moschata worked freelance for numerous brands including Oscar de la Renta, Thom Browne, and as the Runway Atelier Coordinator for Marc Jacobs SS 2023 collection.
They are incredibly passionate about pattern cutting. Frequently combining the flat drafting of tailored pieces with draping on the body and form to alter familiar garments into new, often surreal, shapes, whilst maintaining visual notions and the technical integrity of the origin article of clothing.
